“wizkid Smokes Weed A Lot, It’s Affecting His Brain Seriously” – Samklef Blasts - Celebrities

Weeks back, Music Producer Samklef took a jab at Wizkid on Twitter with some very disturbing set of tweets. Wizkid did reply, but for Samklef that wasn’t going to be the end of everything. Samklef has also unfollowed wizkid on Twitter and Instagram. Samklef recently had an interview with Notjustok and he revealed why he was upset with Wizkid. Also Read Excerpts from the Interview below.. A couple of days ago, there was this uproar on Social Media about your tweets aimed at Wizkid. What happened? Why did you do that? Okay, basically I have been faithful and loyal to Wizkid for so long. I’m gonna be 30 by next year and of which this guy is a kid and when he came to me, I didn’t look at his age, I was so humble to him because I love his talent and charisma. The only problem I have is that when the fame got to him, It was like we were competing. Take for instance, I walked up to him in 2011 for Nonilising video shoot and he told me the song was not good enough. 2012 again, I went to his house in Ogudu and presented him with a song – BIG Alomo. Again, Wizkid said the song was not good enough. I said no problem and waited again till 2013 and I now heard what he told a producer about me (name withheld) because I don’t want to involve anybody. This is my fight and I want to face. I sent Wizkid a text in 2013 and I said “Wizkid, why do you treat people who were there for you like sh*t?, I don’t need your money, just respect people and be good”. After that, I forgot the text and kept famzing him. I came to Lekki since January and I have been in the hotel since and I Just moved out about a month ago. I actually wanted to refresh my brain because at a point, I stopped believing in myself. So, I’ve been forcing myself to Wizkid and he has never invited me to his house as I have been the one going to his house on my own. At times, I would knock at his gate and the security will tell me he’s not around. I tried everything possible to get close to this guy but he was not ready to help my career. Ibb’s Son Joins Niger Gov Race - Politics

IBB’s Son Joins Niger Gov Race Mohammed Babangida, son of former military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, may have joined the Niger State governorship race to contest the 2015 governorship poll in the state. This is contrary to speculation that the son of the former military ruler had backed down on his earlier touted ambition to govern the state, according to a competent source who spoke with our correspondent in Kaduna on Friday. Eleven aspirants were said to have indicated interest to seek nomination of their political parties to run for the governorship seat of Niger State in 2015. “He (Mohammed) planned to purchase the nomination form for the race secretly,” he said. Of the number jostling to succeed Governor Babangida Aliyu in 2015, eight aspirants belong to the ruling political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, the remaining three aspirants are from the main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress. Among the PDP aspirants are a former military administrator of Benue and Kano states, Col. Aminu Kontagora and a 39-year-old Chief of Staff, Government House, Umar Nasko, who is said to be the likely successor of the incumbent governor. Others are the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ibeto; the state Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Mu’azu Bawa, and the Chairman, Wushishi Local Government Area, Alhaji Sa’idu Wushishi. The source, who craved anonymity, noted that the former military leader’s son entrance into the race might have altered the political equation of the state “since Mohammed Babangida and governor Babangida Aliyu are form the same zone in the state.” The PDP has zoned the successor to Aliyu to Niger North Senatorial District, citing equity and justice, Mohammed interest in the governorship, the source added, “will undermine the party’s arrangement of zoning.” He said, “Also, don’t forget that Mohammed Babangida and the current governor are from the same zone. There are evidence that the former military president and his entire family members, including Mohammed himself, were registered at the Sabon-Gari Ward in Chanchanga Local Government Area of the state,” he said. According to the source, the former military president is top on the PDP’s membership registration list “as stakeholder” with registration number ‘0755501’, Mohammed is second on the list with registration number ‘0755502’ , while his other siblings, Aminu and Halima’s registration numbers are ‘0755503,’ 0755504 respectively. http://www.punchng.com/news/ibbs-son-joins-niger-gov-race/

Expose: Jonathan In Another $1.1billion Oil Scandal - Efcc - Politics

www.thisdaylive.com/articles/opposition-party-tackles-jonathan-over-malabu-oil-deal/191179/ The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to urgently take action on the monumental Malabu oil scandal that is again putting Nigeria under the global searchlight as a corrupt nation. In a statement sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said Jonathan must end his silence on the matter since half of the $1.1 billion paid to Malabu Oil and Gas for Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 245 by two oil majors was allegedly used to bribe Nigerian officials who, in turn, used the proceeds to buy private jets and armoured limousines. The $1.1billion proceeds paid to Malabu oil company was shared by some private firms owned by people very close to the presidency, a report by an anti-graft agency shows. The sum of $1.092bn was paid by ENI AGIP and Shell into depository Escrow Account domiciled in JP Morgan Chase Co, London as proceeds for the sale of oil block OPL 245 on 25, March 2011, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) report, which investigated the deal shows. The report said that by August 16, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Mohammed Adoke and the State Minister for Finance Dr. Yerima Lawal Ngama "instructed the release of $401, 540, 000" into Malabu Oil and Gas Ltd accounts domiciled with First Bank of Nigeria and $400 million into another Malabu accounts with Keystone Bank (former Bank PHB). The EFCC report said "JP Morgan complied with this instruction and made the transfers on 23 August, 2011." Malabu, controlled by Chief Dan Etete, ex-oil minister, who was convicted of money laundering in France in 2007, further shared these monies to several other accounts belonging to individuals with very close ties to the presidency. The following day, of the $400 million deposited at the Malabu's Keystone bank account, $336 million was transferred to Rocky Top Resources Ltd's account No 1005556552 with Abuja CBD branch of the same bank. The remaining balance of $60 million was transferred to account No 3610042596 (allegedly belonging to Etete) for forex trading, leaving zero balance with Malabu's Keystone bank account. Of the $336 million transferred into the Rocky Top Resources account, $165 million was subsequently transferred into various individual accounts, leaving the balance of only $171 million, the anti-graft agency's report said. Rocky Top Resources, the report said, was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with 100,000 shares capital only and is owned by one Abubakar Aliyu. The report said that first payment of $401 million to Malabu's First Bank account was distributed directly to A Group Construction Co. Ltd-also co-owned by Abubakar Aliyu ($157m); Mega Tech Engr. Co. Ltd ($180M); Imperial Union Ltd ($34m); Novel Property and Development Ltd-also co-owned by Abubakar Aliyu ($30m); leaving the balance of $143 million Malabu's account. And "reasons for this payment is yet to be ascertained," the EFCC report said.

Ebola: Death of Arriving Arik Passenger Triggered Cleaning Crew Strike At JFK Int’l Airport In New York

The death of a 63-year-old passenger on an inbound Arik Air flight caused an Ebola scare that led to a cleaning crew's refusal to clean the aircraft headed for Lagos yesterday. The unnamed passenger reportedly died in his seat after vomiting several times, according to airport officials. However, officials of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who boarded the plane to remove the dead body, ruled out Ebola as the cause of death. The death scared Arik Air cleaning company workers, who refused to board the plane to perform any cleaning work, causing a significant delay on an outbound flight yesterday. The flight scheduled to leave JFK International Airport at 1:30 p.m. did not depart until 6:52 p.m. after changing its departure gate at least once. Saharareporters learned that Arik’s flight attendants and other crew members joined together to clean the outbound plane before departure to Lagos yesterday. The flight was still airborne en route to Lagos at the time of publishing this report

Liberia: Between Ebola And The Tyranny Of Western Stooge, Sirleaf

In the current Ebola epidemic, Liberia happens to be the hardest hit West African nation. The leader of the nation is a Harvard-educated long-time member of the western corporate establishment, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who became president in 2005 after a Nigerian-led ECOWAS mission put an end to a spate of civil wars. The Sirleaf reign as president, as her stint in America’s big corp. has been tainted with allegations of corruption and nepotism and now with the Ebola epidemic. Her handling of the epidemic in Liberia cannot be disconnected from her obligations as a western puppet and her training in corruption. Perhaps it is not a coincidence that Liberia is worst hit and that a colonial army has urgently set foot in Sirleaf’s Liberia. As soon as she assumed office, Sirleaf quickly signed 100 year, binding deals with western governments depositing the nation’s abundant resources in the hands of the colonialist, despite them not playing a significant role in the stabilization of Liberia, which was achieved by an African indigenous Nigerian-led effort. Last week the Liberian Senate debated and overwhelmingly turned down a proposition by Sirleaf to restrict movement, "limit the right to assembly for any reason", and peculiarly, to appropriate property. Women Voices called it: "Tyrannical Times or Ebola Preventive Measures." Quarantines of cities by the Sirleaf government have sparked serious riots, and now she additionally hurries to grab their land as the Americans settle in. Her approach to combating the Ebola crises has been deliberately ineffective. While having been largely unsuccessful in administrating, the Sirleaf government is postponing Senate elections which lawmakers decided must hold no later than December. It is not surprising that Liberia is most seriously plagued with Ebola considering the level of corruption and nepotism that the Harvard-trained stooge president is involved and accused of. She has been battled for putting three of her sons in top government positions. One of the sons, Charles Sirleaf was appointed governor of the Central bank of Liberia, CBL. Robert Sirleaf served as Board Chairman for the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) till 2014. Sirleaf’s son has been accused of holding dual citizenship which he denied. However the New Republic Liberia paper obtained evidence of his voting in US elections which is impossible for non US citizens. A fourth son, Dr. Adama Sirleaf has just come to join the three. Dr. Adama Sirleaf had to “defend” himself this August against accusations that he was rushing over to the country to make his personal fortune and capitalize on millions of dollars pouring in from foreign sources for the war against Ebola (Liberian Observer, 08/29/2014). Her history of corruption goes beyond her current years as president. Invited into the William Tolbert Richard administration as minister of finance, in 1979 Sirleaf was accused of stealing $3 million dollars. She was coming apparently well trained in colonial corruption from the World Bank, US “loan-shark” banks as well as other African banks. Liberian Justice Minister Christiana Tah resigned early this month citing a litany of reasons including her inability to investigate the Liberian National Security Agency which is headed by President Sirleaf’s son who is accused of corruption and fraud. As the US troops land in Liberia; Sirleaf’s radical and dangerous behaviors in sabotage of her nation cannot be ignored. She is known for her giving financial support to the bloody NPFL leader Charles Taylor, famous for his use of child soldiers. She actually defended his use of child soldiers at a US congressional hearing in 1990. Quite similar to US President Barack Obama who was decorated with a Nobel for peace before he even drafted his global policies – which have now proven to be filled with war and crises – Ellen Sirleaf was decorated with a Nobel for peace in 2011. To the ridicule of the Nobel prize committee, the next year, her fellow laureate who shared the Nobel prize with her, Leymah Gbowee could not take it anymore and quit her position as head of the government's Peace and Reconciliation Commission, telling the BBC: "I've been through a process of really thinking and reflecting and saying to myself 'you're as bad as being an accomplice for things that are happening in the country if you don't speak up… and when tomorrow history is judging us all let it be known that we spoke up and we didn't just sit down." Gbowee accused Sirleaf of nepotism – of course – and worsening the fate of the people, submerging them further in poverty – which has inarguably played a quintessential role in the epidemic spread of Ebola. With the realization that the United States owns a patent on Ebola [# US 20120251502 A1] and as suspicions rise, even among top level global scientists, that the sudden new fast spreading, most virulent strain of Ebola which coincides in its emergence on the global scene, with the US patent, could be some form of ethnic and racial cleansing, it becomes necessary to cross-examine the African heads of state in Ebola plagued nations. If Ebola is a biological weapon, then Sirleaf is the perfect muzzle. Freeing Liberia from her dangerous leadership should be a priority at the next African Union meeting.

Boko Haram Negotiates Cease-fire, Chibok Girls Release In S’arabia - Politics

Islamist militant group Boko Haram is in talks with the federal government to release more than 200 girls abducted six months ago and negotiate a cease-fire to a deadly insurgency that has claimed thousands of lives. An adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan and a man calling himself the secretary- general of Boko Haram told VOA Thursday that discussions are under way in Saudi Arabia, aided by high level officials from Chad and Cameroon. Boko Haram’s Danladi Ahmadu, who is in Saudi Arabia, said the girls are “in good condition and unharmed.” Ahmadu would not elaborate on the conditions under which the girls would be freed. Riyadh is not involved in the negotiations. On April 14, dozens of Boko Haram fighters stormed a secondary school in the remote northeastern village of Chibok, kidnapping around 270 girls. Fifty-seven managed to escape. Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau later threatened to sell the remainder as slave brides, vowing they would not be released until militant prisoners were freed from jail. President Goodluck Jonathan has been criticized at home and abroad for his slow response to the kidnapping and for the inability of Nigerian troops to quell the violence by the militants, seen as the biggest security threat to Africa’s top economy and leading energy producer. http://www.punchng.com/news/boko-haram-negotiating-cease-fire-release-of-abducted-girls

Buhari Took Bank Loan To Purchase APC Nomination Form - Politics

Buhari meanwhile, yesterday procured the party’s N27.5 million expression of interest and nomination forms at the national secretariat. Lamenting what the costs of the forms were high, he said that it took the understanding of his bankers in Kaduna and Abuja to raise the money. “It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be put down as in the case of ladies and the disabled that intend to participate. I always looked left and right in our meetings but I could not read sympathy, so I kept my trap. “But I felt heavily sorry for myself because I don’t want to go and ask somebody to pay for my nomination forms, because I always try to pay myself, at least for the nomination. “N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have personal relationship with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and early this morning, I put an early call (and) I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it, otherwise I may lose the nomination. “I was about to go to Kaduna this morning and I told the Chairman (John Odigie-Oyegun) but he said in that case, you better pick your form and keep a straight face. That means there is no excuse,” Buhari said. Responding after handing over the forms to Buhari, the national chairman of the party, Chief Odigie-Oyegun explained that the N27.5m was carefully chosen to “separate men from the boys”. “Let me say that the N27.5m is to separate the men from the boys. It is quite clear. We know you. I don’t expect you have N27m under your bed. But I expected that there are Nigerians who will vouch for you any day and who are ready to stand for you any day and that is the result that we have obtained today”, he said. The chairman who expressed satisfaction over the turnout that greeted Buhari’s presidential declaration at Eagles Square in Abuja on Wednesday further stated that APC’s train was already on its way to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa. Odigie-Oyegun also yesterday said the party would not be averse to the emergence of a consensus candidate should all the presidential aspirants in the party agree to it. He nevertheless stated the readiness of the party to conduct free and fair primaries that would be acceptable to all. He said: “I want to congratulate you again on the great event that I watched very avidly on television yesterday. It was good for you but it was good for me and the party. I watched it and I knew the entire nation was watching. And I knew inside me what they would be saying. Yes, truly, APC has arrived. These people mean business. Yes, we are going to have quite a few aspirants and we are very glad at the level of display that one by one, they are putting up. It’s a clear indication of the quality in APC. ”It is a clear indication of the quality of leadership that we are offering the nation. “All the people being presented by the APC, there is not one to my mind, so far, who is not eminently qualified to govern this nation and who given even half a chance will not beat anybody PDP can bring to the fore.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/jonathan-blasts-buhari-says-buhari-promising/

Colombia Places Travel Ban On Nigeria, 4 Other African Nations because of Ebola - Travel

Colombia's Foreign Ministry issued a brief statement saying the country was barring entry by any travellers requiring visas who have been in five African nations with Ebola outbreaks -- Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal. It said the step was being taken at the recommendation of Colombia's National Institute of Health. Meanwhile, St. Lucia Prime Minister Kenny Anthony said all visitors from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone were prohibited from entering his country until the Ebola outbreak is brought under control, saying the ban will minimize chances for the deadly disease to be introduced by an infected traveler. He said an outbreak of the virus would be devastating for the country of 200,000 people, where tourism accounts for more than 60 percent of gross domestic product. Passengers from a fourth West African nation, Nigeria, will be required to present a "recent medical certificate" clearing them of the virus, Anthony said. Specifics of how this might work were not immediately provided. Source: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ebola-outbreak-prompts-colombia-st-lucia-to-issue-travel-bans/

Over 1000 Boko Haram Members Arrested In South-West - Politics

SARKIN Hausawa of Lagos, Alhaji Sani Kabir, yesterday, told the Federal Government that northerners in the South West have arrested more than 1,000 members of the Boko Haram insurgents in parts of the South West. Speaking when the Arewa Council of Chiefs in the South West paid a visit to the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, in Abuja, Alhaji Kabir said the arrests were made at different times. He said that those arrested were Boko Haram members who fled from the Civilian JTF/military onslaught on the insurgents in the North East and those who came to the South West to further the insurgency. Kabir said the Council has taken it upon itself to ensure that Boko Haram did not take root in the South West because according to him, such a development would complicate the security challenges facing Nigeria. He said, So far in the South west, we have peace and this is achieved through the collaboration of Arewa people and Arewa chiefs. If you can confirm with the security agencies, we have arrested more than 1,000 Boko Haram members throughout the south west states. We promptly report any suspicious movement to the security agents because we believe that the problem is actually the Nigerian problem but if there is any breakdown of law and order in the south west, we are the prime targets irrespective of whether one is a member of Boko Haram or not. “All the Arewa sarkis (kings) in the south west are up and doing to make sure that we do not allow any breakdown of law and order in our communities.” On how they effected the the arrest, Kabir said, “we inform our leaders that when new people come into their midst, they should observe their behaviour. Some of the leaders in the south west are northerners, some of them are from Borno State, they can know. There were even instances where JTF came from Borno State to identify some of them.” On their support for the re-election President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Kabir said, “I will like to start by going back to 2011 electioneering campaign. There was a team that was led by the president and the vice president and they met with the Council members and we pledged to give our assistance and support during the election period and beyond. Since that time, there has been no communication between us and the president or the federal government. Responding, the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Alhaji Kabir Tanimu Turaki, who received the group on behalf of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan thanked the Arewa leaders for their efforts to ensure that insurgency did not extend to the south west. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/1000-b-haram-members-nabbed-s-west-serki-hausawa/

We Sacked Keshi To Save His Life – NFF - Sports

www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/sacked-keshi-save-life-nff/ By John Egbokha President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has said that Coach Stephen Keshi was sacked to safeguard him from the wrath of enraged Nigerian fans, who were on the brink of lynching him during Wednesday’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Sudan. Pinnick and other NFF Executive Committee members watched with awe, as fans pelted Keshi with water bottles and stones as they demanded for the head of the 2013 AFCON winner at the Abuja National Stadium, venue of the match, which Nigeria won 3-1 to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for next year’s tournament in Morocco. Chants of “Keshi must go:, “sack Keshi” and “we don’t want Keshi again” rented the air as fans went overdrive in their bid to get their voices heard by the NFF, who swiftly swung into action in the wee hours of yesterday by axing the former Togo and Mali coach. And speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr. Tamuno Danagogo yesterday, Pinnick explained the personal safety of Keshi was considered more important than anything else. Pinnck, it was learnt told the Minister that he was shocked with the hostile reception of the fans towards Keshi, arguing that it would be dangerous for Keshi to remain as coach in the face of such hostility. He added that it was the first time in recent years that abuses and stones were rained down on a Nigerian coach by fans. “It was too much to bear. The fans were coming for him and it was going to be a security risk for us as people had ran out of patience and were prepared to break the law to achieve their aim. Keshi’s personal safety was paramount in our decision to relieve him of his duties”, Pinnick said

No Governor Can Take Credit For Wining Ebola War – Jonathan - Politics

Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday said neither he nor any governor in the country can claim the credit for winning the war against Ebola. Rivers and Lagos are the two Nigerian states hit by the Ebola outbreak. The federal government said the two states are now free of the deadly virus. According to Mr. Jonathan, the government could not have succeeded in ridding the country of Ebola virus without the cooperation of the Nigerian masses. The President said these at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during the launch of Elumelu Nigeria Empowerment Fund, ENEF, to support victims of terrorism in the country’s North-east zone. He used the occasion to thank Nigerians for buying into the Ebola campaign, saying that no government could have performed magic to rid the county of the deadly virus without the peoples’ support. Mr. Jonathan, however, commended Nigerians for following the health guidelines set out by government, some of which was a departure from the norm. He said, “When government said we must be mindful of gatherings, of handshakes and that we should not move corpse unnecessarily,” Nigerians heeded the advice. He noted that even churches that he thought would resist the directive by still using a single cup to serve the Holy Communion to its members suspended the practice during the Ebola war. Continuing, he said, “Nigerians became mindful. Friends stopped embracing themselves saying until we get out of Ebola. “So it (Ebola campaign) had the buy-in of the populace and that is why we succeeded so fast otherwise we couldn’t have. “There is no magic government could have used to solve that problem. No President or state governor will claim any credit. The credit should go to the ordinary Nigerians for the cooperation and their buy-in,” Mr. Jonathan said. By his comment, the President appears to be reacting to remarks by top members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, including Governors Babatunde Fasola of Lagos State and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, who have said the Federal Government did very little to contend the deadly virus and should therefore not claim credit for winning the war. While speaking at the formal declaration of a former Head of State, Muhamadu Buhari, for the APC’s presidential ticket at the Eagle Square, Abuja, on Wednesday, Mr. Amaechi, said Nigeria’s flaunted success in the fight against Ebola is a fallacy. He insisted that the Rivers State Government spent a whopping N1.4billion to stop the outbreak of the disease. He faulted claims by Mr. Jonathan’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the Federal Government successfully contained the outbreak. He said, “I hear PDP and Mr. President claiming the glory of having fought Ebola. I asked one simple question: Rivers state government spent 1,406 billion to fight Ebola, the Federal Government brought N200m just last week. If we were waiting for that N200m, Ebola would have spread round Rivers State,” he said. He said his colleague, Mr.Fashola, was also “fully in charge of the Ebola drive in his state”. Further deriding the Federal Government, Mr. Amaechi said “Apart from announcing the number of patients, what did the Federal Government do for us? So, why did they politicise Ebola.” Meanwhile, Mr. Jonathan said the Federal Government has made a donation of N250 million to the ENEF, saying that the government will continue ‎its sustained security operations to eliminate insurgency and restore law and order in the country. Mr. Jonathan noted that the prolonged case of insurgency in the zone has led to the displacement of the population, destruction of infrastructure and the collapse of the economy in the area. The rehabilitation of communities affected by the crisis, the President said, would require not only government’s intervention but also that of the private sector. “I have realized over time that government alone cannot solve human problems. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/169630-no-governor-can-take-credit-for-wining-ebola-war-jonathan.html

Good Manners In Islam - Islam for Muslims

- GOOD MANNERS AND GOOD CHARACTERS: Islam is a beautiful religion, full of wisdom and harmony. If this wonderful religion is followed properly then a typical Muslim would only be a great example to follow. Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: "The Prophet never used bad language neither a 'Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say 'The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Virtues and Merits of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 759) " Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: "The Prophet never used bad language neither a "Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character." (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Virtues and Merits of the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 759) " Narrated Masruq: "Abdullah bin 'Amr mentioned Allah's Apostle saying that he was neither a Fahish nor a Mutafahish.Abdullah bin 'Amr added, Allah's Apostle said, 'The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Good Manners and Form (Al-Adab), Volume 8, Book 73, Number 56) " 2- REPEL EVIL WITH GOOD: Allah Almighty in the Noble Quran commands us to return the evil that is done to us by others to not only with good, but with best! Let us look at Noble Verse 13:22 "Those who patiently persevere, seeking the countenance of their Lord; establish regular prayers; spend out of (the gifts) We have bestowed for their sustenance, secretly and openly; and turn off evil with good : for such there is the final attainment of the (Eternal) Home." Let us look at Noble Verse 23:96 " Repel evil with that which is best: We are Well-acquainted with the things they say." Let us look at Noble Verse 41:34 "Nor can goodness and evil be equal. Repel (evil) with that is better: Then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!." Let us look at Noble Verse 28:54 "Twice will they be given their reward, for that they have persevered, that they avert evil with good , and that they spend (in charity) out of what We have given them." Let us look at Noble Verse 42:40 "The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) Loveth not those who do wrong." Whether people speak evil of you, in your presence or behind your back, or they do evil to you in either of those ways, all is known to Allah Almighty. It is not for you to punish. Your best course is not to do evil in your turn, but to do what will best repel the evil. Two evils do not make a good. You do not return good for evil, for there is no equality or comparison between the two. You repel or destroy evil with something which is far better, just as an antidote is better than poison. You foil hatred with love. You repel ignorance with knowledge, folly and wickedness with the friendly message of Revelation. The man who was in bondage of sin,you not only liberate from sin, but make him your greatest friend and helper in the cause of Allah Almighty!. Such is the alchemy of the Word of Allah Almighty!. Your credit for returning evil with good and paying for charity is double. Also if you forgive and return the evil with good,.then Allah Almighty will love you and reward you. 3- FURTHER GOOD MANNER TEACHINGS IN THE NOBLE QURAN: "It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them. Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (The Noble Quran, 3:159) " "Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men; for Allah loves those who do good. (The Noble Quran, 28:55) " 4- NO VAIN TALKING OR FOUL LANGUAGE: Muslims are commanded to stay away from vain talkers: " When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes thee forget, then after recollection, sit not thou in the company of those who do wrong. (The Noble Quran, 6:68) " "Who avoid vain talk; (The Noble Quran, 23:3) " " And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say: 'To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant.' (The Noble Quran, 28:55) " " So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they encounter that Day of theirs which they have been promised!- (The Noble Quran, 70:42) " "(The sinners will saysmiley 'But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers;' (The Noble Quran, 74:45) " (Quote) (Report) 44 Likes (Like) 5 Shares (Share) grin angry undecided wink Re: Good Manners In Islam by Rilwayne001: 11:12pm On Oct 10 5- Allah Almighty orders Muslims to deal kindly and justly with non-Muslims: "Allah forbids you not, With regard to those who Fight you not for (your) Faith Nor drive you out Of your homes, From dealing kindly and justly With them: For Allah loveth Those who are just. (The Noble Quran, 60:cool " Narrated Jarir bin 'Abdullah: "Allah's Apostle said, 'Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, ONENESS, UNIQUENESS OF Allah (TAWHEED), Volume 9, Book 93, Number 473) " The Muslim needs to always be polite, humble, patient, loving and well mannered when he/she deals with others, whether they were Muslims or non-Muslims. Allah Almighty certainly doesn't love those who are offensive and rude to others. 6- Greetings in Islam: Allah Almighty in the Noble Quran commands us to return a greeting with a better one or at least an equal one. We must maintain the high standards in manners and always be the best examples. Let us look at Noble Verse 4:86 "When a (courteous) greeting is offered you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous, or (at least) of equal courtesy. Allah takes careful account of all things." 7- Respecting others' properties: Allah Almighty commands us to respect people's properties and not to be transgressors. Let us look at Noble Verses 24:27-28 "27. O ye believe! Enter not houses other than your own, until ye have asked permission and saluted those in them: that is best for you, in order that ye may heed (what is seemly). 28. If ye find no one in the house, enter not until permission is given to you: if ye are asked to go back, go back: That makes for greater purity for yourselves: and Allah Knows well all that ye do." 8- Do not be a stuck-up! Allah Almighty commands us not to be stuck-up. He commands us to be laid back and down to earth type of people. Let us look at Noble Verse 17:37 "Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou can not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height." "And swell not thy cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the earth; for God loveth not any arrogant boaster . (The Noble Quran, 31:18) " Insolence, or arrogance, or undue elation at our powers or capacities, is the first step to many evils. Besides, it is unjustified. All our gifts are from Allah Almighty. 9- Is arguing in public allowed in Islam? Let us look at what Allah Almighty Said in the Noble Quran: " God loveth not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for God is He who heareth and knoweth all things. (The Noble Quran, 4:148) " So unless there is a good and just reason for having a public shouting, we as Muslims are Commanded by Allah Almighty to maintain our manners and good behavior in public. 10- How to be a "Strong Muslim" in Islam: "Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The strong-man is not one who wrestles well but the strong man is one who controls himself when he is in a fit of rage. (The book of Muslim, Book 32, Number 6313) " "Abu Huraira reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: One is not strong because of one's wrestling skillfully. They said: Allah's Messenger, then who is strong? He said: He who controls his anger when he is in a fit of rage. (The book of Muslim, Book 32, Number 6314) " "Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Neither nurse mutual hatred, nor jealousy, nor enmity, and become as fellow brothers and servants of Allah. It is not lawful for a Muslim that he should keep his relations estranged with his brother beyond three days. (The book of Muslim, Book 32, Number 6205) " "Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Don't nurse grudge and don't bid him out for raising the price and don't nurse aversion or enmity and don't enter into a transaction when the others have entered into that transaction and be as fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him.The piety is here, (and while saying so) he pointed towards his chest thrice. It is a serious evil for a Muslim that he should look down upon his brother Muslim. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honour. (The book of Muslim, Book 32, Number 6219) "

(The Noble Quran, 3:134) " "Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; but turn away from the ignorant. (The Noble Quran, 7:199) " "Allah loveth not that evil should be noised a broad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. (The Noble Quran, 28:55) " " So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they encounter that Day of theirs which they have been promised!- (The Noble Quran, 70:42) " "(The sinners will saysmiley 'But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers;' (The Noble Quran, 74:45) " (Quote) (Report) 44 Likes (Like) 5 Shares (Share) grin angry undecided wink Re: Good Manners In Islam by Rilwayne001: 11:12pm On Oct 10 5- Allah Almighty orders Muslims to deal kindly and justly with non-Muslims: "Allah forbids you not, With regard to those who Fight you not for (your) Faith Nor drive you out Of your homes, From dealing kindly and justly With them: For Allah loveth Those who are just. FG To Spend N1 Trillion On Petrol Subsidy In 2015 - Business

The Federal Government is to spend the sum of N971 billion to subsidise the supply of petrol to Nigerians in 2015, an indication that the administration has no plan to do away with subsidising petrol. In the same vein, the government plans to give out a total of N260 million to the Subsidy Reinvestment Programme, SURE-P, for intervention in various development agencies. This is contained in the 2015-2017 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy paper, which President Goodluck Jonathan sent to the National Assembly for approval as the basis for the 2015 budget. According to the document, which Vanguard obtained Thursdayt, the government expects to receive fabulous revenue of N7.164 from oil and gas while the sum of N3.2 billion from non-oil revenue sources within the year. Overall, the administration is expecting N11.1 billion as total federally collectible revenue for 2015, as against the projection of N10.894 for the current year. Of its oil revenue, according to Jonathan, the sum of N858.59 billion will be spent as its contribution to the cost of oil production while N209 billion will go to National Domestic gas development and N78 billion set aside for Gas infrastructure development. In the letter he addressed to the leadership of the National Assembly, Jonathan admitted that the oil sector was not witnessing new investments due to uncertainty occasioned on the non-passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB. Jonathan explained that the oil benchmark of $78 pb was predicated on the projected balance between increasing global supply resulting from rising oil and unconventional oil production, and production disruptions that may might result from geopolitical risks. The President said: “Our proposal is also driven by the need to be cautious in our revenue projections given the volatile nature of oil prices and the need to rebuild our fiscal buffers, which have been very useful in periods of revenue shocks”. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/fg-spend-n1-trillion-petrol-subsidy-2015/

Reps Approve 71 Amendments To Nigerian Constitution - Politics

Abuja – The House of Representatives on Wednesday in Abuja voted to effect 71 amendments to sections of the 1999 constitution. The lawmakers also backed the adoption of referendum for state creation. They, however, rejected the amendment of Section 9 to allow for a referendum in determining the fate of the National Conference recommendations. Among the 261 house members who participated in the process, 252 members voted in favour of the amendments, eight voted against and one abstained. A two-third vote (240 of the 360-members) is required to amend the constitution. The report will be forwarded to the 36 state Houses of Assembly for their concurrence. The 71 amendments approved by the lower house border on legislative immunity, local government autonomy, state creation, indigeneship and citizenship. Some others are independent candidacy in elections, budgetary process, life pension for National Assembly heads and role for traditional rulers. An alteration of Section 7 among others, stops revenue allocation from the Federation Account to local governments that are not democratically elected. They also approved the dissolution of local government administrations at the expiration of four years commencing from the date the members of councils were sworn in. While altering Section 59, the lawmakers also voted to bypass the president if he failed to sign a bill presented to him within 30 days. “Within seven days, the President of the Senate shall convene a joint sitting of the National Assembly to reconsider the bill. “And if passed by two-thirds majority of members of both Houses at such joint sitting, the Bill shall become law and the assent of the President shall not be required,” the conference report reads. In other constitution amendments, house members also approved independent candidacy in elections in Nigeria. A new amendment makes it mandatory for the president to address a joint meeting of the National Assembly once a year. The office of the Auditor-General of the Federation, Nigerian Police, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, National Security Agencies have now been place on a firstline charge from Nigeria’s Consolidated Revenue Account. House members equally approved life pension for the President and Deputy President of theSenate as well as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. The life pension would be paid only if he/she was not impeached from office. An alteration of Section 241 which inserts a new subsection (2A) bars Nigerian courts or tribunals from staying any proceeding on account of an interlocutory appeal. House members also voted to include seven items to the concurrent legislative list, some of which are agriculture, railways and pensions. (NAN)

PDP Welcomes Buhari To Presidential Race: Faults His Claims On State Of The Nati - Politics

The Peoples Democratic Party is pleased to welcome to the 2015 presidential contest, the former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari who declared his intention today, Wednesday, October 15, 2014. While we congratulate and wish him well in his ambition, we have noted some distortions and misrepresentation of facts in his speech and consequently wish to put the record straight. According to General Buhari, Nigeria was generating 4000 mws of electricity in 1999 but has today fallen short of that capacity under the PDP. However, the fact remains that as at May 29th 1999 when PDP took office, Nigeria was generating 1600 mws. We urge Nigerians to fact-check on this. Corroboration of this figure can also be sought from the World Bank, the IMF and multiple other authoritative sources. In contrast, it is common knowledge that under the transformative leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria now generates 4568 mws of electricity; a triple of what was generated in 1999. Again, General Muhammadu Buhari stated that a growing economy which the PDP inherited in 1999 has been destroyed within 15 years in office. This also does not represent the reality on the ground. The fact which can be verified from the hand-over notes from the military as well as from the World Bank and IMF is that Nigeria was the third largest economy in Africa in 1999, behind South Africa and Egypt. The nation was also rated number 48 in the world, our Foreign Reserve at $3.6 Billion while our foreign debt stood at $36 billion. However, it is incontrovertible that in the last 15 years of PDP leadership, especially the last three years of dynamic and purposeful administration provided by President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria's economy has become the largest in Africa and the 26th largest in the world. Similarly, our Foreign Reserve is now over $39 billion dollars, and our foreign debts reduced to less than $7 billion from $36 billion. Besides, General Buhari also told supporters that Nigeria’s agricultural sector has gone down under the PDP, a statement which also does not reflect the reality on the ground. Verily, the fact remains that in the last 15 years under the PDP, indeed, the last three years of vigorous application of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda, there has been an unparalleled government input in agriculture, thereby pushing production to an all time high. Moreover, Nigeria food import has reduced from N1.1 trillion in 2010 to N684 billion. While we understand that the APC is hell-bent on using every opportunity at its disposal to discredit the PDP in quest for political control, we urge their handlers to always cross-check their facts and stop making mockery of respected Nigerians in the mould of General Buhari. Finally, the PDP again welcomes General Buhari into the presidential race and hopes that in the future, he will not allow himself to be further embarrassed in the course of his campaign. Health workers in the country will begin an indefinite strike on Thursday (today) over sundry issues, including the unresolved leadership crisis in the health sector, non-commencement of residency training programme for health professionals, non-implementation of new call duty allowance and non-payment of arrears. National President of Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals, Felix Faniran, who announced the commencement of the strike in Ibadan on Wednesday, accused the presidency and Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, as being behind the crisis in the health sector. Faniran said, “In May 2010, the unions in the health sector under the auspices of Joint Health Sector Unions presented a memorandum to the government containing some demands. A presidential panel headed by Justice Abdulahi Bello Gusau was set up in August to look into the demands. This panel was inhibited from carrying out its duties by both the Nigerian Medical Association and the Minister of Health by way of protests and criticisms on the part of NMA while the minister obstructed the committee by starving it of funds and issuance of circulars to pre-empt the outcome of the panel. “The panel managed to submit its report in November, 2011, but till date none of the 27 recommendations of the panel has been implemented. It should be noted that another panel, the Ministerial Committee on Medical/Dental Practitioners Residency Programmes, which was set up the same day with Abdulahi Bello’s committee, did not only complete and submit its report as scheduled, its recommendations are already being implemented.” He added that the five-point agreement signed between the government and the health workers’ union in May, 2012, was yet to be implemented by the government. He explained, “These include the promotion of our qualified members to the post of Directors in the Federal Ministry of Health and parastatals; extension of retirement age from 60-65 years and 70 years for non-consultants respectively; and constitution of the management of boards of hospitals to reflect good presence of other health care professionals rather than the present situation where only medical practitioners dominate each board with 10 members out of 13 members.” The effect of the strike should be blamed on government that ignored all avenues to avert it, the NUAHP president said. http://www.hovabuzz.com/news/731-nigerian-health-workers-begins-indefinite-strike-today-16-10-2014 http://www.punchng.com/news/health-workers-begin-nationwide-strike-today/

He is a Batch ‘C’ corps member, serving in Iwo LGA of Osun state with NYSC state code no is OS/13C/1402. He is the Corper Liaison Officer (CLO) as chosen by the NYSC Local Government Inspector (LGI). Abayomi is a graduate of the department of English from the University of Ibadan. Abayomi was seen by some of his friends in Ibadan with claims from them that he has bought a car and said he will collect his NYSC discharge certificate through the back door. The NYSC officials reportedly do not want it to be brought to light but the aggrieved corp members are scared he may end up getting his discharge certificate and later on become a political figure and in time steal from Nigerians. source http://corpr.wordpress.com/2014/10/13/corp-member-allegedly-absconds-with-n2-3m-meant-for-144-corpers-in-osun/?utm_source=&utm_medium=facebook http://dailypost.ng/2014/10/14/nysc-corps-member-steals-n2-1m-meant-144-corpers-osun/

We’ll Return Nigeria’s $15m Soon – S-africa - Politics

South Africa has promised to return the $15 million arms deal money it earlier seized from Nigeria. The South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Myakayaka Manzini, who featured in a programme on African International Television, AIT, “Matters Arising”, yesterday, said the process of refunding the money was already on. He said: “Both countries have decided on a political solution to the issue. Nigeria is a big ally and a brother.” According to Manzini, South Africa will do everything to maintain cordial relations with Nigeria and would not do anything to hurt her national interests. He added that South Africa had been selling arms to Nigeria and that his country was prepared to sell arms to Nigeria to fight Boko Haram. The envoy, however, did not give the timeline when the seized money will be returned but assured that it will be very soon. South African authorities had seized US$5.7 million arms money from Nigeria, just three weeks after another $9.3 million cash reportedly smuggled by two Nigerians and an Israeli for arms purchase from the country was confiscated, bringing the total amount seized to $15 million (about N2 billion). The private jet conveying the $9.3 million stashed in three suitcases had landed at Lanseria International Airport, Johannesburg, on September 5. The South Africa Revenue Service, SARS, said customs officers became suspicious when the passengers’ luggage were unloaded and put through the scanners. The National Prosecuting Authority, NPA, in South Africa said there was an invoice for helicopters and armaments intended to be used in Nigeria. The second transaction, was between Cerberus Risk Solutions, an arms broker in Cape Town, and Societe D’Equipments Internationaux, said to be a Nigerian company based in Abuja. It was gathered that the deal, however, collapsed after Cerberus which had earlier received from Nigeria R60 million (N1.02 billion) in its account at Standard Bank, tried to repay the money as it could not resolve its registration formalities with the South African authorities. Cerberus was previously registered as a broker with the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC), but the registration expired in May this year. The marketing and contracting permits also expired at the same time. The company has since applied for re-registration, but the application lay in the NCACC’s mailbox for more than two months. It was said that an alleged attempt by Cerberus to pay the money back to the Nigerian company, alerted bank officials who became suspicious. The Nigerian government, however, argued that both transactions were legitimate and there was nothing shady in the arms deal. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/well-return-nigerias-15m-soon-s-africa/

Nigeria's Inflation Drops To 8.3% In September – NBS - Business

National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which measures inflation has dropped to 8.3 per cent in September from 8.5 per cent recorded in August 2014. A statement by the NBS on Tuesday said in September prices rose by 8.3 per cent (year-on-year), down by 0.2 percentage points from 8.5 percent recorded in August. The NBS said this was the first drop in the rate of increase in food prices after increases in the previous sixth months. The statistical agency attributed the reduction to “slower increases in food prices as well as other major Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP) divisions that yield the Headline Index.” The NBS in the release said: “The weakened pace of price increases recorded in the Headline Index in September was as a result of slower increases in food prices as well as other major Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP) divisions that yield the Headline index. “The Food index rose by 9.7 per cent in September, down from 10.0 per cent recorded in August. The ease in the increase in food prices was as a result of slower increases in all groups that contribute to the index. “This was in contrast to observations in August where a broad array of food groups that contribute to the index pushed the index higher. “Increase in prices in the All Items less Farm Product or Core sub-index moved at the same pace for the second consecutive month at 6.3 per cent (year-on-year). “Prices eased in key divisions such as the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels as a result of muted increases in housing prices. “The division, however, recorded an increase in prices in the liquid fuels groups.” It should be noted that the Headline Index is made up of the Core Index and Farm Produce items. As Processed Foods are included in both the Core and Food sub-indices, this implies that these sub-indices are not mutually-exclusive. On a month on month basis, the Headline Index rose by 0.55 per cent in September, from 0.48 per cent in August, a marginal uptick from the previous month. Prices increased in all COICOP divisions that yield the headline index except for the Health, Transportation, Recreation and Culture divisions. After rising at a faster pace for four consecutive months, the pace of increase of both Urban and Rural prices eased in September. The Urban Composite CPI rose by 8.4 per cent, down from 8.7 per cent in August, while the Rural Composite CPI rose by 8.2 per cent down from 8.4 per cent in the previous month. On a month on month basis, Urban prices increased at the same pace in September as observed in August. The Urban All Items Index increased by 0.5 per cent. Prices of The Rural All items Index rose at a faster pace by 0.6 per cent in September, up from 0.5 per cent in August. The percentage change in the average composite CPI for the twelve-month period ending in September over the average of the CPI for the previous 12-month period was recorded at 8.0 per cent, unchanged from the average t12- month rate of change recorded in August 2014. The corresponding 12-month year-on-year average percentage change for the Urban Index was 8.2 per cent in September, marginally higher from 8.1 in August, while the corresponding Rural Index increased by 7.9 per cent in September, unchanged from August, the NBS said in the release. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2014/10/inflation-drops-8-3-september-nbs/
